The insight
Everyone who exercises regularly knows this truth: you never regret going. The run you almost skipped becomes the highlight of your day. The walk you forced yourself to take clears your head completely. Thirty minutes of movement can mean the difference between a terrible night and restful sleep.
Physical activity works. Not just for your body, but for your mind. Exercise reduces anxiety, improves mood, sharpens focus, and helps you sleep. The science is clear. The experience is universal.
The challenge isn't knowing that exercise helps. The challenge is getting started when you don't feel like it.
That moment when you're tired after work. When the weather looks questionable. When the couch is comfortable and Netflix is calling. That's when you need a coach - not to track your splits or count your calories, but to remind you how good you'll feel when you're done.
The problem with fitness apps
Most fitness apps are built for athletes, not humans. They track every metric, gamify every workout, and create pressure where there should be joy. They make you feel guilty for rest days and anxious about streaks.
Worse, they surveil your every move. Your running routes become permanent records. Your health data gets sold to advertisers. Your private moments of self-improvement become corporate assets.
We wanted something different. A coach that asks how you feel, not how fast you ran. An app that celebrates showing up, not showing off. Technology that helps without harming.
What Kairos does
Kairos is an AI fitness coach focused on one thing: helping you move more so you feel better.
You check in with how you're feeling - your energy, mood, and motivation. Kairos looks at the weather, considers your patterns, and gives you personalized advice. Not a generic workout plan, but a specific recommendation for right now.
Maybe it's a 20-minute walk because you're tired and it's nice outside. Maybe it's an energetic run because you're stressed and need to burn it off. Maybe it's stretching at home because it's raining and you need something gentle.
The advice adapts to you. Your coach learns your patterns and speaks in a voice that motivates you - whether that's gentle encouragement or tough love.

The name
Kairos is an ancient Greek word meaning "the right moment" - not clock time, but the perfect time for action. It's that feeling when your body says "let's go" and your mind agrees. It's the wisdom to know when to push and when to rest.
We chose this name because fitness isn't about following a rigid schedule. It's about finding your moments and making the most of them.
Privacy by design
We use your location to check the weather - that's it. We never track your routes, never store where you've been, never sell your data. Your fitness journey is yours alone.
Read our anti-tracking manifesto to understand why privacy matters to us.
Built by Joep and Norbert
We're a small team in the Netherlands who believe technology should make people feel better, not more anxious. Kairos is our attempt to build the fitness app we wish existed - helpful, private, and focused on what actually matters: your wellbeing.
